- Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge - offering looks (if you are lucky) at Mule Deer, Antelope, Big Horn Sheep, and even Wild Horses. The refuse is a home to a lot of beautiful foliage and many types of birds too. It's a high desert environment, but lush with wildlife. In Virgin Valley there is a campground and a warm springs as well that draw visitors during the warmer months.
- Rainbow Ridge Opal Mine - The most developed of the opal mines in the area, complete with a gift shop, bathrooms and shower. A fun place to dig for opals, and if you are feeling adventurous you can tackle some of the other mines around as well including Opal Negra. Use caution on the roads in, they are sharp gravel and can do some damage to tires if you aren't careful. Maybe you can even find the rare black opal!
